Birdhouse Details
Hobbit Hut Hideaway is the perfect beach home.  The crushed shell roof and wood-bead walls and sand grout provide protection from the damp, salty seas.  The stained driftwood door adds a green element to this eco-friendly home, perched on a pink sand beach.  (Even Hobbits have to get away!)

"Art has always been a part of my life.  One of my earliest memories is sitting beside my mother watching her paint.  I would constantly nag her with questions.  'Why is that branch bent?  Who lives in that house?  Why does the river bend that way?'

"My mother was patient and rather than telling me to go away, she made up some of the most intriguing stories about the people that lived in the house, and the boy that pulled on the branch each day."

"I think it's this storytelling that eventually led me to work in theater, and now I've been involved in theater for more than 30 years.  I find the work of writing a play and directing to be one of the most satisfying experiences that I've ever had."

Querida is the author of "Sweet Dreams", "Willowynne", "Ten Little Idiots", and "D.I.D. I or D.I.D. I Not?" Her plays have been performed by Oregon Straw Hat Players and Broomstreet Theater.  She has appeared on stage and worked behind the stage for the Monroe Theater Guild, Childrens' Theater of Madison, Strollers, Oregon Straw Hat Players, Mercury Players and Madison Theater Guild.

Querida is the youngest daughter of Lulu G. Lemery.
